Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Conference in Sacramento
2 Apr 2009 - 5 Apr 2009
Application deadline is TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2008
Applications are now available for students to apply for the 2009 Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Conference!
This annual conference encourages Asian and Pacific Islander American youth to develop their leadership skills and personal potential to become active contributors in public service and our diverse communities. Conference participants are provided with a unique opportunity to explore leadership within an Asian Pacific American cultural context while debating public policy issues as Senators in a mock legislature under the State Capitol dome.
The conference, which is designed for Asian and Pacific Islander American students who are currently in their junior or senior year and enrolled in a California high school, will be April 2-5, 2009 in Sacramento.
There is no cost to apply. The fifty students who are selected to participate in the three and a half day conference will have their expenses for travel, lodging, meals and conference materials paid by the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project (APYLP), a nonprofit organization.
Please visit www.apylp.org for an application form and information about the conference for high school students.
