Anti-business

THE governor and the AGO need to lay off JG Sablan because they are sending an anti-business message to other companies. Other companies would be discouraged to do business in the Chamorro islands if they find out about this. No company would want to invest heavily like John T. Sablan has and later find out that the government would turn its back on them and give them a hard time on running its business. The government needs to lay off businesses and let them run themselves.
The governor and the AG should respect what lawmakers have voted for and let it be. The number of minds in both houses of the Legislature outnumbers the governor’s and the AG’s. Unless they are trying to find another company that would give the CNMI a higher percentage of profits, they should lay off.
There should also be less appointees. Appointees are just a waste of money from a human resources perspective. Every four years, the investment in an employee is lost due to a new governor appointing his supporters. More money is then spent on the hiring and training of new appointees. This also becomes a loss of experience and training which the former appointee received. Do not eliminate, but instead reduce the number of appointees. Does the governor really know how to select the most qualified person to head a department? Unless the governor knows HR management like the back of his hand, he should stop acting as a recruiting agency. Leave that to the Office of Personnel Management.
Put Article 12 and the renaming and reunification of the Chamorro islands on the ballot and let the Chamorro people decide.
